About Dr. Miner
Dr. Daniel Miner, a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia, received his specialty training in pediatrics at the University of Michigan. Dr. Miner has over 30 years experience in pediatrics with a focus on the emotional and behavioral development of infants, children and adolescents. His expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD, depression, anxiety and other mental health issues.
Dr. Miner studied the behavioral and emotional development of children with internationally renowned child development pioneer T.Berry Brazelton, MD, FAAP at Harvard Medical School’s Touchpoints Project. This training lead to Dr. Miner’s founding Pediatrics & Parenting, PC, a practice that incorporated behavioral, emotional and parenting issues into well care. His practice was featured on “The New Pediatrics,” and episode of the TV series, “Brazelton on Parenting.”
Additionally, he received advanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for Primary Care (CAP-PC) through the Reach Institute at the New York State Psychiatric Institute of Columbia University, and studied the lasted advances in ADHD through the American Academy of Pediatrics’ QCN ADHD Project from 2015-2017.
Dr. Miner is the director of the Prokids ADHD program, which includes close monitoring of school progress through a computer portal for monthly parents and teacher assessments. For students needing medication, this allows for optimizing benefits with the lowest doses and avoidance of side effects. Changes in mood or personality are eliminated. Assistance is provided in obtaining a 504 plan or IEP and necessary school modifications.
In an interview for a news article, Dr. Brazelton referred to Dr. Miner’s as “a star in the primary care practice of pediatrics...(giving parents) a feeling of competence and security as they raise their kids.” That is the heart and soul of Dr. Miner’s work.
